We're back!

We're back!!

I'm finally finished with school (for now), so I have time to update every once in a while. This is not for your entertainment, but a way for our family to document the good times and share them with our family around the world. :)

The news, in order of most dramatic:

1. Analie has said "I love you!", at least her interpretation of it. It sounds kind of like "I told you!"
2. Sam is in Kindergarten! He's officially a school boy. I thought I would be sad, but I am excited that I get to see him learn and grow. I cherish every second!
3. James and I have celebrated ten years together this summer. We get more and more tolerant with age, ha-ha!
4. Cats are still alive. Sally is still going strong, although sleeping more these days.

My family is well, but we will be needing some happy thoughts, prayers, whatever you can give for my mom as we start this journey with her. She is the most amazing, strong, encouraging, protective woman I know. She is who I look to for advice for basically everything. That's what moms are for, right?

My Page side of the family is well! I'm looking forward to getting the kids over to see every one soon...depending on my employment endeavors.

And the most consistent and not surprising bit of information....we are still waiting to hear from PA school.

Hopefully we are back before three years from now!! :)

First day of SUMMER!

Today I took Sam to Galveston and it was a BLAST! He had SO much fun that he completely forgot that he hadn't had a nap all day. We left the house around 1pm, and got the the beach around 2pm. We were there for four and a half hours and had the best time. We laid on the beach blanket, he climbed all over me, we played in the sand, played in the waves, found a few shells, and fed the seagulls. He kept saying "by beach, by waves, by sand" the whole way home. I love my little man so much and I am just so happy to have days like this. If I didn't live to see tomorrow, that would be fine with me. I live for times like these with Sam. He makes me understand that we have only a short time on this Earth and we have to make the most of it! I love you, booger head!! :)

Samwich

Oh yeah, yesterday (forgot to mention) we (James, Dad, Sam, and two others) went to the Crawfish Festival in Old Town Spring. It was so much fun! Sam was a good boy, tired, but a very good boy. He got to pet the animals at the petting zoo, and let me tell you- he was ecstatic about it. We ate all the bad foods you love to get at carnivals, the corn dogs, funnel cakes, beer, etc. Sam and I even rode on the Carousel. It was a lovely night out with James and the family. Hope to do it again soon! Sorry I don't have any pictures to post. Someone took my camera out of the bag to make room for the beer..... ;-)

See you next weekend!

Summer

Hola, mi amigas!

This day was just like the one before; pleasant, sunny, and full of Sam. Today we went to turn in our enrollment forms for Sam's new school. He will attend this new one on Monday & Wednesday. I am, very naturally, quite anxious exposing him to a new environment where I won't be able to comfort him. I remember my mom dropping me off at daycare and I always got scared and instantly homesick. I hope this doesn't happen to Sam. At any rate, we got it done.

Then we went to Sam's Club to fill the Fire truck with gas; it might as well be a Fire truck, as it takes so much to fill it up. After that, Sam and I went to Petsmart to get Cat drops which cost a whopping 67 bucks! I say leave the cats outside- but James is very dissatisfied with that idea. It's almost as if the very idea would kill them! He is so funny when it comes to his cats.

Sam and I grilled outside while we played. We ate baked potatoes, broccoli, and chicken. It was awesome, as usual! Sam got an attitude when I mentioned bath & bed, so I had to dish out some extra love.

I write this all because it helps me to remember Sam as he grows up. I've tried to write bits down in my calendar, but typing is faster and more convenient. ;-) Sam, if you ever read this- you are the funniest child I have ever heard. You are in your bed trying to fall asleep, but you're saying "Goodnight baby 'Ohtotter' (helicopter)"  I LOVE MY BABY!!

ANYWAY: Regarding our summer plans- I am very excited to be taking Sam to SeaWorld this summer. We are going to wait until "Granddad" comes out to visit, so he can go with us. Sam LOVES his Granddad! (And his Bohpah and Papa). I also want to take him camping and fishing; that should be so fun!

I am taking 17 hours this summer at school, God help me. I would love to slow down a bit, for Sam's sake, but I am anxious to get this done. Graduate school is fast approaching!

I'm out for now. Moral of the story: Sam is my SUN! I can't live without him, and my day would never be as bright. ;-)

Oh! What a night!

So, little man has basically radiated through my heart, enough to give a pretty good case of heart burn. He is brighter than the sun, warmer than lava, and more loving than cupid himself! I just can't describe the way I feel about him. You know the saying, "he's my world"? Literally, I cannot imagine life without him. He is my vida, and my everything, siempre.

He will be two next month. May 22. D-day. 3:07 pm. After 6 pushes, to be exact. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have another...but then I worry and feel guilty that I could never love another baby as much as I love Sam. I know it sounds ridiculous! But you get my float.

Life is hectic, I love it! Everyone knows how nervous I get when I'm not stressed. Shouldn't it be the opposite? At any rate, school is out in 4 weeks. I couldn't wish it sooner!

James is at his new job; it's okay, I guess. I get the feeling he would rather be doing something else, but might be a bit too proud to say so. Did I mention how much I love him??? :)  Oh, and I am officially, and legally, Mrs. Lauren Page.

I never thought that would happen, gasp! But it feels right. :) The three little Pages.

2011

It's a new year!!!!! Last year was awesome, but this year will be even greater!

As of the first 20 days of this year, I've started school, James has started a new job, and Sam has gained a few pounds.  He now has a bucket of new phrases and sayings, like "hi mommy, how are you??  Hi Sally, hi daddy, hi wookies....love you daddy", etc. He is only twenty months and his verbal abilities have amazed me. Daddy has taught him to shake hands, which he does with profound diligence! My little man...I just love him so much!!!!

James starts his new job soon. He was laid off BA (you guys suck), but through connections, landed a much better job AND in management! He got a much needed and deserved pay rise, and more responsibilities to challenge him. I am so proud of him! He is an amazing husband, and we'll be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary this summer.

And on to moi- class started the other day. I'm finding it difficult to acclimate to my my new routine, and would rather spend my free time with James and Sam. It's all for a good purpose, so I do it.  My greatest fear is not spending a significant amount of time with Sam; the time flies by so quickly and it's exhausting trying to hold on to every hour.  That's why I take videos/pictures and document each day. I don't trust my memory to keep everything in order! ;-)

The animals are cool. Maybe too cool, as Sally has been having too much freedom in the yard. That needs to stop. And the cats keep me annoyed by opening the cabinets and leaving their hair on my carpet. But they belong in the Page family, so have to keep them happy!

Sally, the Keeper

Suki, the wild feline

Sosa, the careful watcher

How's this for the first post of the year? I wish all my family had blogs; that way I wouldn't have to waste time on "the social network".

*peace, siempre

i've got the magic

As much as I wanted an A on my organic chemistry exam...it's just not going to happen. Although, as you can see, I had the BEST tutor anyone could ask for!  I wish I could say it's not fair...but I didn't study near what I should have. So every mark is well deserved!! Taking 16 hours at school, and working 20- this schedule is just not realistic for my lifestyle; nor is it conducive to my innate, meticulous studious attitude. I am finding it hard to allocate my time according to my needs...I want to spend all my time with Sam!

Ahhhh the trials of motherhood and trying to be superwoman at the same time. "Calmate mi hija"...I can hear it now.

Wrapping it up...I love my boys! Life is short, life is good, life is LOVE!!!

i've fallen 2010

It's Fall. Can I still say summer? It's not even September yet, so I think it's acceptable. I just have a few things to say; don't let me keep you.

I LOVE SAM!!!! He is the greatest little thing ever. I just realized that we spend an hour and a half just getting a bath, then quiet play time in his room, story time, rock & sing to him, then toss him into bed. I would go crazy if I couldn't be here at night to put him to bed.

And another thing. Do you realize that we spend SO MUCH TIME preparing for tomorrow, that we don't stop to live for the day? Being a new mom I am so in touch to the feel of time passing by me, and I consciously grasp on to any moment with Sam, secretly wishing I could keep him that size for a few more years. But "want-don't-get" and wishes don't come true; he grows once I put him to bed. I frantically make sure I have the camera/recorder every where we go so I can document every aspect and angle of his life. One day I won't be here and Sam will be thinking the same thing. I just can't tell you how important it is to STOP and think..."today is a day that I will never get back". And once you really grasp that meaning, I think you might appreciate life just a little more.

My dad says he feels like he was 20, just yesterday. That's how quickly time passes. He's right. It feels like just yesterday I learned how to tie my shoes, and thought I was the most bad-ass kid in the neighborhood. That was almost twenty years ago.

So come on.
